Purpose: The problem is figuring out if the menthol in a mint leaf actually cools down the temperature in your mouth, or if your mouth is playing tricks on you. When you put a mint in your mouth and drink water, your mouth feels really cool. The purpose of this experiment is to achieve a goal of figuring out if mint actually cools down your mouth or if it is just a “cooling sensation.”
Cupcake elected herself Supervisor of the Science Fair Project. I can’t tell you how many times during this process I heard Ayla yell, “Cupcake!!”
Ayla’s 6th Grade Social Studies/PACE class: Design a poster of your country and a packaged product representing your country to barter. The poster had several elements that needed to be included. The product was Coconut Sunshine Cake with dried pineapple. Final grade on the poster: 100. Final grade on the product: 100. Nailed it.
